Cogito TV, my company, moved into an office about a fortnight ago.
Our first office after a fairly nomadic existence between my home, various coffee shops around Mumbai and my partners’ homes.
The new office is a flat in a brand new Mahda colony in Goregaon East. Roomy, with great sun light and cross ventilation - the flat is our new home. for atleast the next 11 months.
MAHDA builidngs are put up on land reclaimed from slum dwellers - who are given alternate - pucca housing in the same area. It works out well for all concerned. those in shanties get permanent housing, and the state gets back acres of prime property.
Like most Government constructions - it is not great to look at. But it is a solid piece of engineering. With important things like community spaces, ventilation, sunlight - taken into consideration.
The building faces one of the new flyovers that are sprinkled all across Mumbai. we were joking that if it had been a private builder the building would have been named flyover view

The joys of a global world. sitting in Mumbai, using my Indian credit card, purchased a camera from Amazon in the US. got it deliverd to my brothers’ home in Washington. and brought it with him during a recent visit.
The Minolta Dimage Z1 is a neat 3.2 mega pixel camera, that i am still trying to figure out.
It works great outdoors, i am still trying to get to grips with it indoors. It seems to give me slightly soft focus shots indoors. maybe it’s just me
