Doublespeak

Our esteemed former Prime Minister, Vajpayee, has said that the dissolution of the Bihar Assembly is the murder of Democracy!
I suppose that boycotting Parliament and making sure that your party does not play the role that it is paid for – is fully condusive to Democracy.

On the issue of Bihar, i really see a Hobson’s Choice for the Centre. Damned no matter which option they take. Option one is have no elections. Option two is have them.

None of the main parties involved are willing to talk with each other. Paswan and Laloo uncle would probably kill each other before they have a civil conversation. The BJP won’t talk to Laloo. Laloo loathes the BJP. Paswan is backing away from the BJP. Nitish Kumar is the common joke in town. So, given all this warmth and goodwill towards each other, how do you form a working, effective Government in the absence of political consensus? Especially, when the people think that none of the parties involved deserve a complete majority.

My own recommendation, for what it is worth, is a Draconian version of Option One – 4 years of President’s rule. A fearless and clean person in charge with the mandate to deliver the state back to the people.

U mentioned something I could not comprehend.

    “working, effective Government”

lol. Has there ever been one? Do politicians when they get together ever discuss about it?
