Yesterday in the Economic Times – a headline which made me laugh:

reminded me of headlines when we were growing up – Indian Wrestler comes 35th – and the story would run — The Indian Wrestler (or rower or shooter) excelled their own record and finished 35th out of a field of 37 in the Olympics.
On closer checking we would realise that Swaziland was 37th and Nepal was 36th!
Gee.. 9th place.. I still can’t stand the ToI.. mainly since I used to read it religiously when I was a kid and I can’t stand the bastardized tabloid version the hawk now that is closer to the Daily Inquirer than a mainstream newspaper.
