About

It is odd that a person who has spent her entire adult life communicating about others, finds it so difficult to write about herself.

Who Am I ? Harini Calamur – native of Mumbai, India.

Who is Gargi ? - I am. It’s one of my two middle names. A long time ago when i started blogging, i used that as my id… and it stayd

These are exciting times for the entire Indian broadcasting industry, and it is an experience to be a part of it…. I also teach Media and Culture at Sophia College, Mumbai – as visiting faculty…

Hi Harini, quite a profile. Interesting info on Tibet but boycotting Olympics would be quite an extreme knee jerk reactive which in turn might have a counter effect on the protesters. I feel China is holding its batton and not coming too hard on the protestors. If we boycott, the chinese will have nothing to lose and they’ll start a special pogrom then for the protestors.

Right now we need to engage and slowly build the bridges.

I noticed you in my bloglog widget. Thanks for checking out my site.

    hi Tarun
    thank you….
I am not quite sure of that. The counter i have for that is South Africa and Apartheid…. at some level the international boycott helped in dismantling the regime….be it in terms of sport or in terms of economics…
With China, I am not sure about building bridges… the most we can hope for is cordial neighborly behavior not friendship…. and, it gets a bit much if our ‘cordial neighbor’ occupies thousands of kms’ of our territories and their paid stooges (CPI-m) holds the country for ransom….
I really don’t think that we will boycott the Olympics…the left won’t let us :)

Gargi – any memories around Filmistan Studio shooting with Mukesh Malik and having garam chai with the gang? Add one more monsoon song to your list ‘ Aate Jaate Khoobsoorat Aawara Sadko Pe’ from Anurodh. Rajesh Khanna describing his chance meeting with Simple Kapadia on radio….
