Totally Desi. The only aspect that fine tuned it for the multiplex audience was the waxed torso of<strong> Bajirao Singham<\/strong> (Ajay Devgn). Otherwise the film had the most important elements of a <em>masala <\/em>Hindi film &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Hero (Ajay Devgn) who is invincible &#8211; he can fight 20 bad baddies and his white banyan will remain\u00a0super white\u00a0(almost expected yeh hai super rin ka kamaal), turn a whole bunch of\u00a0corrupt\u00a0police to the side of &#8216;good&#8217; through a single speech<\/li>\n<li>A villain (Prakash Raj) who has no redeeming qualities &#8211; who talks about himself in the 3rd person. murders children, extorts, grabs land, gets honest policemen trapped and commit suicide.<\/li>\n<li>A heroine (Kajal Agarwal) &#8211; who can be replaced with anyone else. but looks pretty. flirts nicely. and who stands by her man<\/li>\n<li>A sister &#8211; a sister figure actually (Sonali Kulkarni) whose husband&#8217;s &#8216;assisted&#8217; suicide &#8211; and the clearing of his name becomes the crux of the story<\/li>\n<li>A decent support cast &#8211; Ashok Saraf, Sachin Khedekar, Murli Sharma, Govind Namdev,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The film is fun. Don&#8217;t go in expecting Art. This is a <em>masala <\/em>Fillum \ud83d\ude00 &#8230; Over the top fight scenes, great throw away lines, a decent enough chemistry between Hero &amp; Heroine, totally time pass, and total paisa vasool. Both Ajay Devgn and Prakash Raj seem to be having a blast in their roles &#8211; its almost as though they know it is comic book and are playing it accordingly. It did crack me up when Devgn goes &#8220;phakt Bajirao Singham&#8221; or &#8220;chayla ..&#8221; &#8211; the forced marathification of the scripting a terrible accent &#8212; but it was fun.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t pay money to go to a theatre and cry or figure the meaning of life. I pay money for this kind of <em>masala <\/em>entertainment. \u00a0If you are like me , you will enjoy this film.
