So why is it any different from Parliamentarians? What gives them the right not to turn up to work? After all we – the tax payer – are paying them well, and on time, and with full benefits. So if they don’t turn up shouldn’t they not be paid, and then if their behaviour continues, shouldn’t they be sacked?
