It is also the state that enforces prohibition. Sale of alcohol and its consumption are banned.<\/p>\n<p>And of course it is ruled by the religious right &#8211; the Modi led BJP government&#8217;s claim to fame was the riots in Gujarat last year.<\/p>\n<p>So it was very amusing to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/economictimes.indiatimes.com\/articleshow\/605724.cms\">read <\/a><\/strong>that large volumes of alcohol were seized from the home of the Minister for Religious Places and Cow Protection (no less).<\/p>\n<p>Every time i read about incidents like this, i am convinced that God has a wicked sense of humour<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The state that has the highest per capita consumption of alcolhol is Gujarat.
