Why would a Government that wants to actively practise disinvestment, because it believes that it is not the Government’s job to run a business – get so actively involved in education.

What competence does a government have to interfere in the running of institutions.

The latest salvo fired by Mr.Joshi – the education minister is to reduce the fees of the IIM’s from 2 odd lakhs to under Rs. 30,000. there seems to be a routine monotony with which Mr.Joshi attacks our educational institutions.

If the government is truly worried about making educaion accessible to all they should probably start with ensuring that every child in the country goes to school. screwing around with the IIM’s is not really going to help.
