Today’s reads Ayodhya, Ambedkar, Brain Damage threat for children, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, Europa
Sankarshan Thakur has a rather sad piece in the Telegraph, on the destruction of the Babri Masjid. No Longer Ashamed, Ayodhya at 25
On the anniversary of Ambedkar’s death anniversary, there is a delightful read about the man who plays Ambedkar.
This is a scary piece. We all know that pollution has a major impact on our lungs. CoPD and other pulmonary diseases rule. However, recent studies seem to indicate that high pollution can lead to brain damage for children. Also, children in the womb can be impacted, heavily by pollution.
There goes one more childhood fantasy. Carolyn Keene, and Franklyn W Dixon (writers of Nancy Drew, and Hardy Boys) did not exist. They were a bunch of freelancers run by a writing syndicate in the USA. The Mystery of the Hardy Boys and the Invisible Authors in the Atlantic is a fun read 🙂
Looks like the next frontier (after mars) is Europa, one of Jupiter’s satellites. IT seems capable of supporting human life. If you haven’t do watch (and read) the sci fi series, the Expanse.
