We spent quite some time yesterday watching the rushes of our [tag]Marathi Feature Film [/tag] [tag]Jhing Chik Jhing[/tag]. I know I can never be unbiased as far as this film is concerned – but it is looking good. Normally when you watch film rushes, you do so without sound – despite that, the power of the scenes carried.
Everyone is so very good. I guess that is the advantage of regional films. You get to work with actors who are passionate about their craft.
[tag]Bharat Jadhav[/tag]is such a fantastic actor. and such a decent human being. When you shoot in Dhule, everyone turns out to meet their hero. And, he had time for all. From going to the local theatre to opening a shop to generally hanging out with the crew.
[tag]Madhavi Juvekar[/tag]plays Bharat’s wife.
However, the surprise package in the film are the young one’s – Chinmay Kambli as Shyam; Aarti More as Dipti and Prateek Dalvi as Gautam. Watch out for them.
And finally, I speak Marathi. I have lived in this state all my life — it would be terribly stupid of me not to learn it 🙂
