Once upon a time there was a great free e-mail service called Hotmail. Hotmail was probably the most popular e-mail service (about 7 years ago). Everyone i know, including me, had a hotmail account.

And then Microsoft bought out Hotmail. First came the – not being able to log on to the account. then came frequent crashes while one was on-line. and finally i gave up. in those days net time was precious. most companies had a 56.6 kbps connection (usually shared between 20 people). Using hotmail was not the best way to utilise net time. So i moved on – along with lots of people – to far more stable services. Today i still have a hotmail account – but that is more for MSN chat – some clients only have MSN – than for mail purposes. I have privacy up at maximum but yet this account of mine manages to attract more spam than all my other acocunts put together.

Now Google may be courted by Microsoft. The mind boggles at the thought. I only hope that www.alltheweb.com gets its act in place before that happens.
