There was no link, afterall, between Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. And this is not from the anti war movement or Michael Moore, but the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States – a bipartisan commission set up to investigate why 9/11 happened. Its staff papers make for good reading. The commission says::

There have been reports that contacts between Iraq and al-Qaida also occurred after Bin Laden had returned to Afghanistan, but they do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship

And just a few days ago I saw Dick Chenney on CNN declaring that Saddam and Osama were joined at the hip and collaborated on every human disaster since Eve took a bite of the apple. So the Osama Saddam link is probably where the WMD’s are. Find the WMD and you will find the link. How would you expect a Wahabi Sunni Fundamentalist from the 10th century to deal with a secular godless debauch?

On the other hand, the link that was there was between Pakistan and Al Qaeda – the link being the Taliban. And this link remained till much after the 9/11 incident. Maybe, that’s where both the WMD”s and the other links will be found.

In a few weeks all noise of the Saddam/OBL link will slowly fade away, just as the noise on WMD’s did. And then will come a new justification.
Maybe if the administration simply told its people, we invaded Iraq because we wanted u to continue getting gas at $2 per gallon. It is your interests that we had in mind – they would simply be voted back again:)
Truth is always a good policy in situations like this – especially when different arms of the government cannot concoct a consistent lie:)
