I was in Chennai for my grandmother’s birthday on the 25th of May. But, the birthday was just an excuse. We caught up with all the cousins, assorted nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.  The Chennai i know is very different from the Chenani that most people live in. For me, it is a place where family stays. So as such, i know places where x mami or y mama or z cousin lives .. and not too much of the thriving metropolis.

I did manage to get out a bit, my aunt took me around. The first thing that I wantedto get were matching blouses for a whole bunch of Sari’s. It’s not that i wear sari’s very often, it’s just that i have a lot of sari’s given to me by people who think that i ought to wear sari’s. 🙂 .

We went to Luz. Luz seemed to be like Dadar market. Everything crammed into tiny stores, with charming sales men and great choice.

The matching centre, had all kinds of goodies including borders. These go on sari’s, kameez’s and on blouses.

A variety of ‘matches’ to suit every sari — from the most boring to the most jhatak.

Like all good sales people, he too managed to get the pulse of the customer’s tastes in the first 30 seconds and managed to show you all the stuff you need, and sold you twice as much as you thought you will buy 🙂
