Yesterday was Day 2
The day told me a lot of what was wrong with my life. I need to start keeping a diary of appointments – rather than rely on my brain. I haven’t forgotten anything yet …but the kind of mix up I had yesterday told me why I feel that I am running on empty.
Amongst the things I do is teach. It pays next to nothing. But, it is a commitment to the field that I have worked for the last 15 years. Plus I enjoy teaching & training which more than compensates for the ‘next to nothing.’ This term I teach on Thursdays and Fridays – three lectures back to back from 8 to 10. 30.
The first thing i need to do is to put a day between two lecturing sessions. Two days in a row is killing. But, i digress. I also train – I have been training succssive batches of journalists and social workers from Iran on the use of media for development. Teaching 20 year olds and training people my age are two very different things and requires a mental shift of gears. I went to teach at Sophia’s in the morning and realised that the commitment for the 7th to train the Iranian students was also Thursday. 6 hours of teaching plus 2.5 hours of driving + 6 hours at office is enough to scramble my brain … and that is what happened..
But the brain was not so scrambled that I didn’t shoot photos, or call friends 😀
Sophia College for Women. I teach media related subjects here twice a week.If you think that girs are the weaker sex, you ought to visit … the young ladies will rule the world …
Day 2 – evening
After finishing the training, got stuck on the highway, in traffic. A great time to take out the camera and shoot. This is a series of pictures called “driving in the rain” …:D
All pictures taken with the help of the wiper – and yes, I was driving …. that is how jammed the roads were
The droplets on the windscreen distort the view – giving the tail lights an almost oil on water kind of feel
Slightly better – but not quite …
And, then this …the city of Gold … the shades of gold against the blue of the monsoon sky…even the 20+ year old taxis look rich
Didn’t like the all clear picture as much as the visually distorted ones …but, maybe that is just state of mind …
And finally, the side view mirror
I really did like this picture – looks like the kind of stuff you will see in a horror flick 😀
nice harini !
thank you 😀
I Loved the pics. From my experience, some of the best pictures are the ones taken randomly without paying too much attention on aesthetics, settings and technicalities.
Great going.
thank you 😀 yes me too. the more structured ones are good, but they lost out on the spontaneity
Loved the last pic.
