Today’s Recommended readings #2611, An Insignificant Man, Chinese Economy, Nazis, Fish

Raghu Raman writes on why large nations lose small wars. I remember a friend telling me, when the terrorists were holed up in the Taj and shooting people – “their recruitment video is done and dusted”.  #2611

Yogendra Yadav on the 5th Anniversary of the formation of the Aam Admi Party, in the aftermath of watching an Insignificant Man. If you watch the film, and I have, the insignificant man is not Kejriwal. it is Yadav – and his dreams of a pan India alternative. But, dreams die.

The Bloomberg (yes, you read that right) has a piece that advocates China NOT opening up the Economy. Debt is the reason. ‘

The Atlantic had two very good pieces. I am sure they had more, but i read only two pieces. And, both make the list. An eerie piece on bigotry and Nazism. they are just like you and I, except that they are Nazis.  The second is the Nationalist’s Delusion – and how Trump embodies the rage felt by his core base. White people believing they deserve more, simply by virtue of birth. I wonder why it sounds familiar.

And, finally a light piece – Do Fish Have Feelings ?
