Net Neutrality, Dating, Indian GDP, Reptiles that Fly – today’s recommended reads.

Net Neutrality is on the agenda today.  The BBC has a detailed report on how, if it is accepted by the Government, India’s net neutrality rules will be the strongest in the world. And, why is it important ? because, the lack of net neutrality rules will kill the internet. Farhad Manjoo has an excellent piece on the debate in the US. And, if the US kills net neutrality, the rest of the world will follow.

The Reuters has a poignant piece on how the neo middle class date. Dating in Delhi when you’re poor, is a poignant, sweet, and yet hopeful narrative of how the majority of India lives.

And, Manas Chakravarty analyses the new GDP figures. He is hopeful of recovery, and declares Indian economy no longer dependent on the oxygen of government support. Hmmm. Yes, it is, until such time the government decides to cut off the oxygen, or disrupt it’s supply.

Across the border, in Pakistan, the debates on Patriarchy v/s Liberalism sound very similar to the one’s we have here. Marvi Simred schools Imran Khan in Liberalism, and what Pakistani Liberals have achieved for their country.

And finally, imagine snakes that fly. Rather don’t, because they are extinct. A haul of egg fossils from the flying reptile Pterosaurs has been found in China. Here is hoping that scientists don’t try and re create it from the scraps of DNA. i can do without seeing snakes fly.
