One of the givens of living in Mumbai is during monsoons – commuting will take up to three times as much time – because most of the arterial roads dissolve. what is left is rubble, potholes and pain.

Yesterday when we were driving down down by Mahim, work was still in progress on getting storm drains in place. The traffic – needless to say – was bumper to bumper. And monsoons aren’t yet here.

In a few days, the blue of the sky will become bluish-grey and the white clouds will be replaced by beautiful grey rain clouds that will cleanse Mumbai. I hope the i remember that when i am stuck in a traffic jam for 3 hours.
