… this year seems to be hotter than normal. It must be the extensive roadworks that are happening across the board that is causing all of us in the city to wilt under the heat. It feels like 40 degrees (celcius) and about 90% humidity. And it is truly unbearable. It is only the middle of April and there are two months to go before the monsoons bring relief.

A couple of things that are making life worse. Firstly, we have ghastly amount of dust being created by the old set of roads getting gouged out ( i kid you not). Then comes the chaos brought in by earth movers and cement mixers. They simply don’t do anything. their sight is enough to stop traffic.
The earth mover decimating the old road before the concretisation begins.
And of course the endless traffic jam. Two main causes – one is the above mentioned road works, the other is a major spurt in vehicle population.

There is still 8 odd weeks left for monsoons. I hope and pray (yes, truly pray) for the roads to be fixed – or else the term traffic jam will take on a whole new meaning.
