IT has been hectic from the word go. 2006 wound up with marriages, social events, etal – all of which required me to smile a lot. It was fairly wearing. I can’t handle so much social interaction – and wonder if i am at heart asocial!
…. KD and Reshma were in town. Together in India for the first time in 3 years. They came in on the 25th and left on the 9th. And the two and a half odd weeks that they were here whizzed past. The first four days were taken up with various events in Lara’s wedding. From the sangeet, to the mehendi to the actual ceremony. There was a day’s gap between the events. Andrew, Lara’s husband, is an American and I think that he got a bit overwhelmed by the great Indian family and their habit of asking personal questions. To be very frank, the great Indian family overwhelms me on most occassions, though i have learnt to answer the questions with a smile. Most of the extended family probably think that I am a blithering idiot because i have the same standard smile for any question – from whether i want tea, to how my business is doing, when I am getting married……etal
For the new year we were at Lonavala. And had a blast. Tried to watch star wars – back to back (new hope & beyond, not the other travesty that bears the same name) but barely managed to finish watching New Hope. I guess that the days of wild all night partying are over.
We got back on the 1st and i flew off to Jaipur, Pushkar and Heritage on Wheels. More on that later. Since the 1st life has been more or less non-stop on the go. I am reeling. And it feels good.
